Strategic Partnership
Partnership for Lasting Impact

At Rantai Tekstil Lestari (RTL), we believe that real systems change doesn’t happen in isolation—it requires trust, co-ownership, and long-term commitment. That’s why our strategic partnerships are not one-off engagements, but deep, evolving collaborations that aim to create broader and lasting impact across the textile and fashion ecosystem in Indonesia.
By aligning visions and pooling resources with local and global partners, we co-design programs, influence policy, and build infrastructure for circularity that works for everyone—from industry players to waste workers and local communities.
Launched in October 2024, the Circular Fashion Partnership (CFP) Indonesia aims to build a sustainable and circular textile system. This program, initiated by Global Fashion Agenda with local partners, is implemented nationally by RTL. As the National Coordinator, RTL ensures that the initiative aligns with the Indonesian context, fostering brand-manufacturer collaboration and system-level change for post-industrial textile waste recovery.
This strategic partnership drives the transformation of Indonesia’s textile industry toward a more sustainable model through circular approaches. Our collaboration involves strengthening policy frameworks, increasing green investment in the sector, fostering public-private partnerships, and building strategic knowledge to support circular textile practices. This partnership is also open to expanding into future areas of joint interest.
This partnership seeks to improve transparency and accountability in Indonesia’s textile and apparel industry by strengthening sustainability reporting practices. It includes technical support for launching and consulting the GRI Sector Standard for Textiles and Apparel, translating the standard into Bahasa Indonesia, and creating pathways for broader adoption in the sector.
As part of RTL’s commitment to developing Indonesia’s sustainable and circular textile product ecosystem, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BINUS University International in May 2025. This partnership spans various fields, including student research, community engagement, shared learning programs, and knowledge exchange. Through this collaboration, we aim to shape future leaders and innovations that will drive the circular transformation of Indonesia’s fashion and textile industry.
The partnership between Rantai Tekstil Lestari (RTL) and the Indonesian Fashion Design Study Program Association (IMODEA) marks a strategic step to strengthen synergy between higher education and the industry in realizing circular and sustainable fashion. It focuses on developing curricula based on sustainability principles and fostering collaboration in research, publications, and joint innovation projects. Through this collaboration, RTL and IMODEA are committed to bridging academia and industry to nurture a new generation of fashion professionals who are innovative, environmentally conscious, and ready to face future challenges.
