Fashion Evolution at Jakarta Fashion Week 2025

Jakarta, 24 October 2024 – At the heart of Jakarta Fashion Week 2025, three major players in Indonesia’s textile and fashion ecosystem—Asia Pacific Rayon (APR), Duniatex, and Matahari—came together to present a powerful statement on sustainable fashion. Carrying the theme “Fashion Evolution”, the collaboration brought to life 48 runway looks at Pondok Indah Mall 3, blending innovation, style, and environmental responsibility.

Embracing Renewable Material

APR supplied its renewable and biodegradable viscose-rayon fibers, which were transformed by Duniatex into high-quality fabrics. These fabrics then became the foundation for Matahari’s exclusive brands—Nevada and ZES—each delivering a fresh and modern interpretation of sustainability in everyday fashion.

Youth-Centered Design Collection

Nevada’s “Confident Teen Spirit” collection celebrated individuality with bright colors, varsity elements, denim, and grunge influences—bringing viscose-rayon into bold, youthful looks. Meanwhile, ZES’s “Stress-free Commute” line focused on contemporary, elegant styles for urban life, with breathable and soft viscose-rayon offering comfort for daily wear.

This marks APR’s third year collaborating with local brands at Jakarta Fashion Week, continuing its mission since 2019 to engage designers, fashion enthusiasts, and textile stakeholders in advancing sustainable fashion in Indonesia. Previous collaborations with Matahari have also included sustainable clothing displays and a textile waste management program.

“Partnerships like this demonstrate how cross-sector collaboration can create tangible impact and inspire the public to embrace sustainable materials,”

The Fashion Evolution showcase exemplifies how strong partnerships across the textile supply chain can drive the sustainable fashion movement forward, aligning with global trends while reflecting Indonesia’s own creative and environmental aspirations.
