PT. Lakumas
PT. Laksana Kurnia Mandiri Sejati (Lakumas)
Upstream Manufacturer
Founded in 1997 in Tangerang, Banten, PT Laksana Kurnia Mandiri Sejati (Lakumas) operates high‑quality spinning mills in Tegal and Bandung, producing synthetic and natural‑blend yarns for export to more than 20 countries across Asia, the Americas, the Middle East, and Africa. Rooted in Indonesia, Lakumas combines innovation with traditional values, aiming to promote sustainable fiber solutions—such as its signature Candimas yarn, made from natural TENCEL™ fiber (produced from FSC‑certified wood pulp)—to enhance both environmental and social value across Indonesian textiles.
Over the years, Lakumas has committed strongly to environmental stewardship. Since 2016, the company has shifted to using naturally colored fiber and plant‑based dyes, eliminating the need for synthetic dyes—and thereby significantly reducing chemical waste discharge into local waterways. Additionally, since 2018, Lakumas has transitioned from coal to natural gas for steam generation, helping cut emissions and minimize air pollution in its production operations. Their participation in TENUN Fashion Week and support for women weavers across Indonesia further reflect their social innovation and respect for cultural heritage.
