Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API)
Association
Founded on June 17, 1974, Asosiasi Pertekstilan Indonesia (API) serves as the unified industry association spanning the entire textile and textile products (TPT) value chain—from synthetic fiber producers to weaving mills, batik makers, garment exporters, and machinery suppliers. As the official national body recognized by the Ministry of Industry, API has played a vital role in policy advocacy, industry coordination, and strategic networking across stakeholders.
API values sustainability as a strategic priority, embedding it into national-level discussions and stakeholder partnerships. API co-hosts high-level gatherings—such as the "Strategic Sustainability from Source to Shelf" event with BSI and TESTEX—to promote traceability, chemical safety, and sustainable sourcing practices throughout the textile ecosystem. Jemmy Kartiwa, API’s Chair, has frequently emphasized the strategic need for traceability and responsible sourcing as critical solutions for Indonesia’s textile competitiveness.
