Asosiasi Produsen Serat dan Benang Filament Indonesia (Apsyfi)

Association

Founded on May 31, 1975, the Indonesian Fiber and Filament Yarn Producers Association (APSyFI) represents 22 member companies producing polyester staple fiber, polyester and nylon filament yarns. Indonesia ranks among the top 10 global producers, with capacities exceeding 830,000 tonnes for staple fiber and 840,000 tonnes for filament yarn per year. APSyFI stands at the forefront of industry-level coordination and policy advocacy aimed at ensuring a robust, competitive, and ethical textile supply chain.

APSyFI actively advances sustainability principles by supporting strategic policies, circular practices, and regulatory frameworks. It has urged the government to establish anti-dumping tariffs of 20% on imported filament yarns in order to protect domestic capacity, critical for sustainable industry development across the upstream—from polymer producers to fabric mills. The association also backed the 2024 decision to allow controlled MEG imports, affirming a balance between self-reliance and availability of essential raw materials like ethylene glycol.

APSyFI is pursuing energy transition and carbon readiness in the face of incoming carbon tax policies. Its leadership has called on the government for coordinated regulation to align carbon pricing with industrial adaptation capacity—especially for exporters to Europe and Japan. This awareness reflects broader readiness among member companies to embed energy and emissions efficiency in operations.
