FSRD Maranatha was officially established in 2005—evolving from the Maranatha Arts and Design Center—to become a multi-disciplinary creative hub offering a Diploma program in Art & Design (Fashion) and three undergraduate degrees in Fine Arts, Visual Communication, Interior Design, and the newly launched Bachelor of Fashion Design & Lifestyle, which began in 2025 as the first and only S‑1 Fashion Design program in Bandung and West Java. The new bachelor’s program embeds entrepreneurial, cultural, and sustainable living themes throughout its curriculum, aiming to cultivate designers who are industry-relevant and socially responsible.

FSRD Maranatha integrates sustainability into its educational experiences and industry engagement. For instance, students such as Axel Lemuel Lewi advocate conscious consumption through coursework that tackles sustainable bridal wear and upcycling, supported by formal courses on Sustainable Fashion in collaboration with waste management companies. Their annual Evolusia fashion show features graduating projects aligned with themes like cultural identity, slow fashion, reuse, and cross-border collaborations—with industry partners such as APPMI and Keimyung University (South Korea).
