Basrie Kamba currently serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Rantai Tekstil Lestari (RTL) and as an Advisor at Marlow Global. He recently concluded his tenure as President Director of Asia Pacific Rayon (APR), one of Indonesia’s leading producers of viscose-rayon. In his role at RTL, Basrie has been instrumental in driving key initiatives aimed at transforming the textile, apparel, and fashion industries toward greater sustainability and circularity. He has been a strong advocate for the development of a national roadmap on sustainable textiles and for fostering inclusive collaboration across the value chain.
During his leadership at APR, Basrie Kamba led the company to national recognition for innovation, notably receiving the INDI 4.0 Award for implementing the “Follow Our Fiber” traceability platform—enhancing transparency and accountability within the fiber supply chain. Through initiatives like the Everything Indonesia campaign and participation in events such as Jakarta Fashion Week, he also helped elevate the profile of Indonesian textile products on both domestic and global stages.
As RTL’s chairman, Basrie continues to emphasize the power of storytelling. By encouraging member companies to share their best practices in sustainable production, he ensures that Indonesia’s role in the global circular textile movement is recognized as a proactive leader in sustainability.
