Singapore, October 7, 2025 – Rantai Tekstil Lestari (RTL) took part in the Halal Creative Forum 2025, organized by Scarf Media at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. RTL’s Chair, Basrie Kamba, joined as one of the panel speakers, sharing his perspective on “The Art of Staying Relevant.”
His presentation explored how today’s creatives can remain meaningful in a world that changes faster than ever, driven by technology, shifting values, and evolving cultural expectations.
The New Reality: Change Is the Only Constant
Basrie began by reminding the audience that creativity no longer moves in slow, predictable cycles. Digital tools, artificial intelligence, and social media reshape creative industries every day, while consumers increasingly seek authenticity and purpose over aesthetics.
“Relevance today means adaptability, authenticity, and speed,” he said.
In this new reality, the ability to adapt determines longevity. Those who can evolve alongside technology and cultural shifts will continue to create work that resonates deeply with their audience.

From Creator to Continuous Learner
To stay relevant, Basrie encouraged creatives to embrace the mindset of lifelong learners. The future, he said, belongs to “hybrid creatives”—individuals who blend design, technology, and sustainability in their craft.
He highlighted the importance of curiosity, experimentation, and self-reflection:
“Every few months, do a ‘relevance check.’ Revisit your skills, platforms, audience, and purpose.”
For him, creative growth requires the courage to unlearn and relearn—to constantly redefine one’s identity in line with emerging tools and ideas such as AI, augmented reality, and digital art.
Sustainability as the New Creativity
Basrie also emphasized that the most forward-thinking creatives no longer design for trends, but for impact. Sustainability and circularity, he noted, are redefining what design value means in the modern era.
“Meaning has become a creative advantage,” he shared, underscoring how purpose-driven storytelling now shapes stronger emotional and cultural connections with audiences.
When creativity is used to address environmental and social challenges, it becomes more relevant and future-oriented.
Technology as a Creative Partner
Technology, according to Basrie, should not be seen as competition but as collaboration. AI and digital tools can enhance, not replace, human creativity—helping creators forecast trends, personalize experiences, and build immersive storytelling through tools like augmented reality or digital twins.
“Don’t compete with technology. Learn to co-create,” he advised.
This mindset, he said, empowers creatives to maintain their identity while leveraging the tools that define tomorrow’s industries.
Collaboration Over Competition

Closing his talk, Basrie highlighted that the future of creativity lies in collaboration, not competition. The most meaningful innovations emerge when designers, artists, technologists, and communities work together across disciplines.
From circular design hubs to co-branding projects between artisans and tech startups, these alliances represent the next phase of creative evolution. Shared values, cultural empathy, and collective purpose are what will sustain relevance in the long run.
“Relevance isn’t about chasing trends—it’s about leading with purpose, learning fast, and collaborating wide. In a world that changes daily, those who evolve consciously will not just survive—they’ll define what’s next.”
