FAQ

Welcome to the RTL FAQ Page

Here, we answer some of the most common questions about who we are, what we do, and how you can be part of our mission to drive sustainable change in the Indonesian textile and fashion industry.

RTL is a multi-stakeholder alliance committed to accelerating sustainability and circularity in Indonesia’s textile and fashion value chain. We bring together industry players, academia, government bodies, and communities to collaborate for systemic change.

RTL stands for Rantai Tekstil Lestari, which translates to Sustainable Textile Chain. We are also known internationally as the Indonesian Sustainable Fashion Alliance.

RTL was initiated in 2021 as a grassroots collaboration and has since evolved into a formal network of changemakers driving sustainable textile innovation across Indonesia.

RTL works through three main pillars:

  • Strategic Partnerships: Long-term collaborations with MoUs and shared commitments.

  • Collaborative Actions: Short-term, project-based partnerships, often involving events, research, or campaigns.

  • RTL-Led Initiatives: Programs developed and implemented by RTL such as workshops, pilot projects, and educational outreach.

While RTL is primarily a network of institutions, individuals can get involved through individual membership, attending our events, or collaborating on research and campaigns.

Absolutely. We welcome knowledge exchange and joint initiatives with international partners aligned with our mission for a more sustainable and circular textile ecosystem.
