Measured Positive Impact

APR’s approach to ensure their sustainability initiatives and targets are measured and backed with data is a testament for the only integrated viscose rayon producer to lead and champion change for all industry player across textile value chain in Indonesia.

APR will implement science-based solutions to reduce product carbon footprint per tonne of viscose staple fibre from their operations by 50% and by sourcing 100% of mill’s energy from renewable and clean energy sources. APR commitments include reduction in chemical and mill-wide electrical energy consumption.

APR will champion clean and closed-loop production, supporting Indonesia’s textile industry shift to a low carbon economy. In their operations, APR is committed to reduce waste-to-landfill by 80% through investments in closed-loop production and recycling, and by achieving a greater than 95% sulphur recovery rate by 2030.

APR will accelerate innovation in textile recycling, utilizing 20% waste composition in its viscose production. Through collaboration with supply chain partners and innovators, APR aims to scale new circular approaches, and advance the collection, sorting and recycling of textile waste.

Through a series of community livelihoods initiatives, we are supporting inclusive prosperity in marginalized communities. These initiatives will deliver sustained livelihoods, support gender empowerment and provide communities with improved access to basic health services.

APR is helping to revitalize Indonesia’s traditional textile craftsmanship, providing Riau’s women and youth with access to new skills, professional development opportunities and improved income and wellbeing.
