Muda Terampil

Empowerment Initiative

Muda Terampil is IBL’s flagship youth economic empowerment initiative, launched in collaboration with partners including Citi Foundation and Accenture, and active in regions like Karawang, Purwakarta, Mojokerto, and Indramayu. The program blends soft-skill training, character-building, and entrepreneurship readiness with hands-on textile and fashion skill-building—particularly using natural dyes, eco-printing, and batik techniques. Through the Rumah Muda Terampil (RMT) framework, local youth and women's groups are trained to produce natural-dyed textiles and traditional crafts with economic value, building both business capacity and environmental awareness.

Participants receive technical training in techniques like jumputan (tie-dye), eco-print (printing with leaves and flower petals), and batik cap with natural indigo-based dyes, alongside mentorship in business modeling, digital marketing, and product photography. These eco-textile skills are supplemented by support to develop actual social enterprises: mentees are matched with mentors, form micro-business groups, and some launch fashion-focused cooperatives. Public showcases—such as local exhibitions and “Pameran Fashion Khas Nusantara” events—raise awareness of eco-fashion and local textile heritage, empowering youth-led sustainable microbrands.
